Two fan boys and two long time friends talking about everything that's nerdtastic!

#201 – First Appearances, Celebrated Returns, and the Guardians of the Galaxy, too!

WNC201This week on the 201st episode of When Nerds Collide, as promised, we celebrate the return of long-time friends of the show, Matt and Avery! What? Avery’s never been on the show? Are you sure? I would have sworn he had been here before. Ok, then we celebrate the first appearance of Avery! And we told Matt he could be on the first episode after #200(we never thought we’d get that far), so welcome back! We’ve asked our friends to join us as we discuss the focus of the upcoming Marvel film, The Guardians of The Galaxy! Before we get to Guardians talk, however, the chit chat includes the obligatory Tidewater Comicon promo, Butt Stuff(always popular on this show), what if Howard Cosell had his own podcast, and what Avery is doing here. Jumping into the main topic, Dan and Tom express their surprise, wonder, and gratitude that this obscure property was made into a successful film franchise. We have an early quiz that leads into multiple digressions, including Dan’s love for Major Victory and his convoluted origin story. The conversation is comic heavy to begin with, but then all of the guys express their appreciation of the film and then proceed to discuss the reasons for our love of this team and all it’s various incarnations. We wrap up with Dan and Tom discussing the casting of several older actors in the upcoming sequel while Avery covers his ears to prevent possible spoilers. So get out your pictures of Sam from Who’s the Boss, plug in your headphones and enjoy our show!

Thanks to Matt and Avery for joining us!
