When Nerds Collide #159 – The Return of Ron (Marz)

Posted by on Apr 24, 2016 in Podcasts | 0 comments

In this fantastic episode writer Ron Marz joins us again to talk a little about everything. We talk about the passing of Prince and how influential he was on the musical world. What we loved about him and how much we’ll miss his music. Since the Tidewater comic con is near and Mr. Marz will be attending, we talk about conventions in general and what it means to sign books for fans. Dan then brings up some creations of Ron’s and he tells us how he got the ideas for some of them. Some cool stories are told. Then we move into how amazing it is to see comic book films in any kind of shape or form and how great it is to see the characters we love in live action. Some really fun points are made about...

The Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band So this past weekend I went to my very first Baton Rouge Blues Fest.  It was a two day event. Unfortunately, I could only make it on Sunday.  As with any festival here in Louisiana, there were good drinks, good food, and good music. For me, one band stood out as not a good band, but an amazing band.  I say that for several reasons.  I’m not going to pretend I have always been a fan, but I had heard of the band before and liked a couple of their tunes.  But seeing them live, I went from “Meh, they’re ok”  to “This is one of the greatest bands out there.” A buddy of mine turned me on to the band about two years ago.  I enjoyed the sound.  There are...

Posted by on Apr 10, 2016 in Podcasts, Uncategorized | 0 comments

On this week’s episode, we made a new friend! An honest-to-goodness TV and movie star! This week, we talk to Mike Nardelli, who is the producer, writer and star of The Tribe, a short film currently making the rounds at the film festivals. Also his new short comedy film “We’ll get it” also making the rounds at all the festivals. He graciously agreed to talk to your humble nerd hosts about his body of work instead of partying the night away in LA. (actually, since it would be afternoon in LA when we recorded, I guess he could still party the night away). One of his films, Dennis Doesn’t Live Here Anymore, was inspired by the Dennis the Menace comic strip, so to be helpful,we pitched him some Ideas based on other comic strips! We all discuss the new...

When Nerds Collide #157 – Sherwood Horror w/John Regan

Posted by on Apr 3, 2016 in Podcasts, Uncategorized | 0 comments

Rob from the rich and give to the poor! That’s a phrase everyone has heard of. However, we talked to John Regan writer/director of Sherwood Horror and he gives a spin on the classic Robin Hood character that is awesome. John talks to us all about his Kickstarter project and getting it off the ground. A great concept of a modern day Robin Hood fending off vampires with his group of old hunting buddies. Its a hell of a conversation all about John’s background, where he got the influence for the project, and what people can expect from Sherwood Horror! After that he joins us in a small discussion of Batman v Superman. We know that everyone everywhere is talking about it, and we’re no different. All of us give our take on the movie from several different perspectives....
