When Nerds Collide #156 – Kirby Guacamole!

Posted by on Mar 27, 2016 in Podcasts | 0 comments

In this amazing episode Kyle Stevens from Kirby Krackle was cool enough to drop by again and tell us all about whats going on in the nerd-rock world. Kyle tells us the good news about his songs in Disneys XD’s Guardians of the Galaxy cartoon and the 6th annual Krackle Fest happening and what will be going on there. He then lets us know about the progression of his performances and what he really wants to do on stage besides sing. We then ask about Kyle’s musical influences and how that has effected the genre of music he plays. Since Kyle is a talented songwriter and WNC isn’t, we throw some song ideas his way to see what he thinks. Dan gives him some advice on raising a kid, and to end it all off, we bring out the secret identity quiz,...

When Nerds Collide #154 – Hero vs Hero

Posted by on Mar 13, 2016 in Podcasts | 0 comments

Another great show with more content that you can shake a stick at! We bring to you a discussion of several topcs and juvenile humor. Starting off with a birthday recap Dan has to go over and talk about some stories he feels worth mentioning. We discuss to qualities of children programming and what exactly it’s teaching our kids. Some songs can entertain the kids while others can concern parents. Batman v Superman! You know whats good about it? According to Tom, nothing. This movie is going to blow, and Tom actually brings up a good point why. Let us know if you agree or disagree with him. On to the main event, heroes vs heroes. With the upcoming films of Batman vs Superman and Captain America: Civil war, the audience is getting a taste of why good guys...

Comic of the Week – First week of March 2016

This week my favorite book was Uncanny Avengers #6. Pretty good story. The Wrecker is released from prison and immediately attack Avengers Mansion, which apparently has been turned into a theme hotel??? Synapse is approached by Medusa to come to New Attilan for a tour and to meet her new “family”. Deadpool and Quicksilver are dispatched to stop the Wrecker while continuing to search for The Red Skull ad his daughter, Sinn. Written by Gerry Duggan, the story has some nice humor and decent action sequences with a twist ending, but the reason this gets my Book of the Week award is Carlos Pacheco’s artwork. While not every panel is great, they’re still pretty good and the good ones are great! Pacheco is one of my favorites and I’m glad to see he’s on this book...

When Nerds Collide #153 – Stop….Collaberate and Listen!

Posted by on Mar 6, 2016 in Podcasts | 0 comments

This week on WNC, we are visited by two of the beautiful people, Orrion from OrrionOnline and Tina from VivaValentina, cosplayers extraordinaire! They are also our friends from Dave and Busters! They had a purpose for stopping by, to spread the word about the upcoming Tidewater Comiccon Pre-Party, (Friday, May 10th, from 9P to 2A at the glorious Dave and Busters at Lynnhaven Mall), but in order to do this, they agreed to be subjected to the usual torture we heap upon all our guests. First, they were asked inane questions about their love of cosplay and their recent experiences, they were subjected to an overlong TV crossovers quiz on shows from before they were born, provided with a list of Comic crossovers they didn’t really care about and, in the end, they were asked to plug themselves! Just...
