When Nerds Collide #148 – The Comic King
In this awesome episode we were on location at the great Comic Kings to talk to the owner himself, Joey!
Come listen in on what it was like to open a comic shop in the early 90s and exactly what it took to make it happen. We ask Joey a bunch of questions to learn what life is like a a comic book shop owner and the stories that follow. From bad customers to great ones, all the way to grading comic books as an art form, you’re going to get to learn something from this conversation. We learned a lot from talking to Joey, like the odd presence of comic book shops in this area, and exactly how big card games are, and the rise and decline of trends and what stage we are at today.
In any traditional episode, Tom brings his quiz and of course we have a great time. So come listen to an amazing episode and learn and laugh as we dive into the world of the Comic King! Also Bryan is working behind the counter at this time, and we make fun of him. For more on Bryan check out our Batman vs the world episode!
