Tomb Raider! More fun than raiding…..a…..tomb?
Holy crap what an amazing game! I really didn’t know what to think about this new installment of the Tomb Raider franchise but it defiantly blew my socks off, then on, then back off. This game impressed me on so many different levels. I’ve been involved in the Tomb Raider games since the first one debut in 1996. I’ve had my ups and downs with the series, however I’m very happy to say that the new installment has rekindled my love and crush for Lara Croft.
The game is set in the beginning where its Lara’s first (accidental) adventure ever. The story is really good. It’s so intense I catch myself yelling at the T.V. during some of the suspenseful parts. Whether its watch Lara trying to get herself out of an awful situation, or yelling at her to duck while she’s getting shot at. There are some holes here and there, but the graphics and the acting make up for anything you may be unhappy with in this game. Lara is voiced by the talented Camilla Luddington, and the slew of secondary characters are also very well done. If you’ve been an avid follower of Ms. Croft like I have, you’ll see the origin of some little ‘Lara Croft’ signature moves and items ( I won’t spoil it for you).
The game play its self is a blast. From looking for weapon parts, to shooting your enemies with exploding arrows, there’s never a dull moment. The playable sequences, which make you press a button at the right moment or Lara will die in a horrific way, are always great and unexpected. You cross a bridge, it collapses. Hurry! Press LEFT before she —never mind, she just got impaled. She really gets messed up in this game. It defiantly shows her inexperience as an adventurer. Kinda like Spider-man learning to swing on his web for the first time. Doesn’t quit get it at first and gets the crap knocked out of him his first go around.
The replay value is moderately high. Once you beat the game, you can go back and finish any challenges or items you missed, Still plenty bad guys wondering around. as for the multiplayer, to be honest I really haven’t had a chance to check that section out yet. I’ve been hook on the single player aspect of it since I bought it.
I recommend this game to any and everyone. It’s so much fun and it’ll keep you on your toes. I can’t stress how great this game is and how much fun I’m having. I’m happy to see that Lara Croft is back and still a badass, cause I missed her! Hey Lara, after you raid that tomb, my bedroom is next! Gigitty! Is that a creepy thing to say to something that doesn’t exist?
